Stacey + Dustin [Lancaster Session]

“A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.”

This husband + wife photography team has brought their dreams into existence. Stacey + Dustin work side-by-side while photographing weddings, and their personalities compliment each other. After two years of marriage, they display quite a synergy.

I was honored when Stacey asked if I’d shoot photos for their upcoming website and branding. It’s both exciting and slightly nerve-wracking photographing fellow photographers ; ) [Sidenote: I first met Stacey last summer when we happened to be at Panera simultaneously. All of the sudden, a friendly girl walks up to me and introduces herself--thanks to the power of social media and following each other on instagram.]

These two couldn’t be any sweeter; they were best friends for two years at Messiah College before they fell in love. Dustin proposed to Stacey in Washington DC on a romantic picnic, and they’ve been enjoying the journey ever since. Together they love volleyball, tennis, watching Friends (the greatest show!!), enjoying Chick-Fil-A’s scrumptious milkshakes, and deepening their faith in God.

On a foggy winter day, we headed into the woods—one of their favorite places—to capture this time in their lives.

Nelson + Kristen [Lancaster Session]

Alaska’s wilderness holds a special place in Nelson and Kristen’s hearts. They both attended University of Alaska in Fairbanks but hadn’t crossed paths yet. After a Christmas break in Lancaster, Nelson flew back to Alaska and sat next to Kristen’s roommate. After the flight, she told Kristen about this cool guy on the plane who Kristen would “totally dig.” They met shortly after that, when they (both geography majors) were in the same classes. They’re crazy about each other, and it’s so evident. This adventurous couple lived for three years in a dry cabin with no indoor plumbing. They've both won axe-throwing contests(!!) They're avid XC skiers, canoers, bikers, and love dog-mushing races in Alaska!

Last summer Nelson and Kristen tied the knot in Alaska and are living in the fantastic city of Boston. I’m so glad they wanted a “just because” photo session while they were here over the holidays. To capture their love for the outdoors, we decided on a Christmas Tree farm which was the perfect setting.

They're so natural and easy-going with each other One of my favorites. You guys are too cute!

Nelson has played guitar for YEARS and has never had a picture taken with one…we had to fix that! And Kristen, you're stunning!

Nelson's grandmother created this quilt as a wedding gift to them. So cozy!

We ended in downtown Lititz which was decorated so festively.

Laura + Kyle

There’s something darling about having photos taken with your sweetheart “just because.” Make sure you capture little moments…the in-between moments and not just milestones. I love that Laura and Kyle desired this photo session for that exact reason. For them, this is a season of growth. Of change. Of joy. Of anticipation. They've recently experienced exciting career changes; Laura works to better the lives of children who have been through severe trauma. Kyle is a systems engineer, a firefighter, and is a sergeant with the National Guard. Needless to say, these two display huge hearts for serving others.

Before the colorful leaves floated down from the trees, they wanted photographs in the midst of Autumn-- their favorite season, especially for the pumpkin-carving and apple cider. After documenting their engagement photos in the winter, I am eagerly anticipating their October 2015 wedding.
