Wedding & Engagement Stories
Emily & Zack [Downtown Charleston & Folly Beach Engagement]
“We explored downtown Charleston for the first half of their shoot (I’m obsessed with the architecture, palm trees, and their outfits!). Then ended the evening at Folly Beach which was exquisite.
Fun fact: I photographed Emily’s sister’s wedding in 2018; it’s a privilege to photograph the same family multiple times!”
Lauren + Michael [Sea Isle City, NJ engagement]
For this couple, Sea Isle City is more than just a scenic place. It holds special meaning for them, as this is the spot where Michael proposed. And Lauren has grown up vacationing here with her family.
Katie + Matt [Maryland Engagement]
This blog post is extra special because Katie is one of my very dearest friends.
In 2013, I photographed a wedding where Katie was a bridesmaid. We had mutual friends, and I remember being drawn to her spunky personality. We stayed in touch, and the first time we actually hung out was a 10-day trek around Oregon and Washington!
Matt + Steph [Middle Creek Engagement]
Matt and Steph met on e-harmony, and they instantly clicked! I had such fun watching them joke with each other and have a blast frolicking around Middle Creek. When they’re not working, they love following Philadelphia sports, sipping coffee, and sharing a strong faith.
Jena + Rob [Lititz Engagement]
“He makes the most ordinary things fun,” Jena smiled as she described her fiancé, Rob. On a seemingly “ordinary” road trip together to Maine, she realized this was her person. During their engagement session, it was evident how much fun they have together!
Gray + Bethany [Conestoga House Engagement]
Two years ago, Bethany's sister adopted several children. At the adoption party, Bethany and Gray were introduced to each other. Their friendship blossomed into love, and Gray proposed by writing a song on the piano. Bethany will be walking down the aisle to it! I'm a fan of couples weaving special touches into their wedding day.
Valerie + Jimmy [Conestoga House Engagement]
Strolling the lavish gardens of the Conestoga House was so much fun with this stunning couple! We laughed our way through the entire session.
Valerie & Jimmy reside in Boston, the city where they met when attending the same college. A mutual friend’s birthday party brought them together, and their relationship endured long distance while Valerie studied abroad in Greece.
Patrick & Katelyn [Hunting Hill Mansion, Ridley Creek]
Rain was forecasted for Patrick and Katelyn's engagement session, but they embraced it! I'm a fan of rainy-day vibes, and I keep two clear umbrellas in my SUV for this exact occasion. I’m thankful for adventurous clients!
Erin & Andrew [Spring Engagement]
Erin & Andrew met in a unique way: in college, they went on a double-date one evening...but not with each other! They were set up with other people that night. It was several months down the road that they ran into each other and struck up conversation. Clearly it was meant to be. They share a love for fitness, tacos, and the Pittsburgh penguins.
Ella + Jeremy [Perth, Australia]
Photographing this stellar couple in Perth, Australia seemed surreal. The moment I met Jeremy and Ella, we all felt like friends; we rounded out the evening with Thai food and lots of laughter.
Anna + Nick [Bamboo Forest Engagement]
Anna and Nick live in Manhattan and are planning a super fun wedding at Reading Terminal Market (in Philly) this fall!
After falling in love at college, they moved to the Big Apple and enjoy going on self-guided walking tours around NYC, cooking together, and traveling around the globe (including riding elephants in Thailand, where some of Anna’s family lives!).
Paul + Tricia [Gettysburg Engagement]
As we strolled through a beautiful area of Gettysburg, they told me about the proposal. Paul did an excellent job planning a special evening while Tricia was visiting him in Chicago this summer. He popped the question in Lincoln Park, and then they celebrated with dinner and a Billy Joel concert!!
